First we are going to try out a Socratic seminar session that I leaded at last week's MCTE meeting. We will discuss our third reading (page 49-100).
The discussion questions are below.
Explain why you can’t get far without a Linchpin in your company or organization? (49)
What is the law of Linchpin leverage? (51)
What do you think Godin means when he writes, “Almost any job can be humanized or transformed?” (52)
How is your job a platform? (57)
Here is the key, I think, to being a linchpin. Godin observes on page 59, about the linchpn Marissa Mayer, “She solves problems that people haven’t predicted, sees things people haven’t seen, and connects people who need to be connected.” Where is that in a job description or resume?
How does a linchpin handle fear? Could you do this? (65)
* Godin’s example of if he feels fear, it’s something he should do. The more fear he feels, the more he has trained himself to do it.
What is the downside of good? (69)
What is work for blessings? (70)
Of the top ten list that motivated people to do their best work, what stands out? Why? (78)
Is it possible to do hard work in a cubicle? (80)
What is all the gift stuff he talks about? (82)
Then watch this TEDx Talk about leave three take aways in the comments below. Please respond to two comments from your peers.
Thanks!
