Linchpin assignment #1

Below are some videos from Thomas Friedman. I believe these are reasons why you should be focused on becoming a linchpin (if you aren't already).

For each video, leave one takeaway / response.

Then please leave feedback to one comment per video from your peers.

So that means four separate pieces of feedback overall.

I have left examples for you in the comments section.

Thanks!

  1. The hyper-connected world -

Technology is radically altering the workforce. Any job that can be automated, will eventually be. So the key to success for your generation is to be remarkable in an area that either cannot be automated or if it can be automated, you have to be so remarkable that you can use that technology to make yourself even more remarkable.

The world is only going to be more competitive. What skills can you gain that will make you - to connect to Newport's book, so good that they can't ignore you.

My brother is an example of this. He started working at Crystal Sugar in Crookston part time right out of high school. He was, however, a quick learner. Soon he realized that his job - which was basically shoveling beets - was likely to be automated. So he dutifully applied for extra training and made connections with his supervisors. He was always able to stay one step ahead of the automation and always keep a job.
He did this for a decade.

Then he got married and had a daughter with special needs. This required him to look at making the leap into higher management, which he eventually did, again thanks to further classes and training. But he is still constantly practicing the craftsman mindset to stay ahead and to remain a "linchpin," which we will learn more about soon.

Simply put - the world is so competitive and changing so rapidly you don't want to be a "cog."

  2. Friedman's advice for his daughters -

If you can apply the four concepts Friedman is talking about here with a unique skill, a solid education, valuable experience, or a great talent, you will be an amazing asset to any corporation or organization.

My favorite bit of advice is his second tip - think like an artisan. Find a way to inject "art" into your job or work or craft. Take pride in what you do. I believe that will help fuel your passion, which will help inspire you to seek out more deliberate practice opportunities.

One takeaway from the video that I thought was interesting was that technology is taking away jobs in the workforce. Technology is forcing us to either be a linchpin or a nobody. The reason why I think this is because technology is taking away all of the easy jobs that all the "lazy" people do. Purchasing your items at Walmart or McDonalds will be easy, robots or some other technological device will be the one doing the job for the company. In order for our generation to flourish in the workforce, we have to be remarkable (like Mr. Reynolds said up above). We are going to have to come with our own ideas, and possibly create jobs that aren't in the workforce.

    1. I agree with you when you say that technology is taking away all of our easier jobs in the workforce. It definitely has already started with Walmart introducing the self-checkout system causing Walmart to not need as many employees.

I think it is crazy how much technology is actually influencing the job market today. To think that Google would rather higher someone off the street with no college degree then someone who graduated from an ivy league school is so surprising to me.

It just shows how much more aggressive the workforce will be by the time we graduate from college. We are going to have to prove that our strengths out power certain technology. Or we are just going to have to do our research when going into a specific field to make sure our job title won't soon be ran by some new up and coming software.

    1. I agree, Bailee. I think it is pretty scary to think what the world is coming to. It would really suck to invest in a profession in college and by the time you graduate, the job is already taken by technology. Maybe we are going to have to prove that our strengths out power certain technologies.

      Delete
    2. I agree that it is crazy how Google is hiring people off of the streets rather than people with degrees. It shows our education system that what they are saying we need to learn and what they are teaching us about means little in the real world. And that we are able to get great high paying jobs by just doing what we know.

      Delete
    3. I wouldn't say that Google is ready to hire just "anyone" off the street. In order to get an interview or an internship with Google, you have to amazingly talented. They are just recognizing that there are other avenues to find those amazingly talented people than just hiring college graduates.

      Delete
    4. It is crazy to think that they are hiring less educated people then a higher educated person for the job especially for google. I guess it shows that people are looking to hire cheap labor if they can pay them less that gives them more of a reason to hire them.

  5. Friedman's Advice for his Daughters -

I thought that Mr. Friedman's concepts made sense and were straight forward. The one concept that I thought was most valuable to me was his first one - think like an immigrant. When immigrants come to our country they are here for a new start and they will do anything to get where they want to go. They are hungry. If there is any threat to them, like competition, they will do whatever it takes to be better. If you think like an immigrant, you will be hungry to learn more and you won't take anything for granted.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If we all think like immigrants than I really think we will all have a great mindset. They all come here not knowing a lot about our country but yet they still push themselves to be successful. We all need to have that mindset, and I believe that the outcome will work out for a lot of people.

      Delete
    2. I agree with both of you if we both think like immigrants we would have stronger company making more money. Everyday they'd be hungry to grow more and more. This is what we need hungry company's and employ's.

  6. Friedman's Advice to His Daughters:

I like how Friedman uses the phrase "stay hungry". I think that a lot of young adults right now are loosing their motivation to find who they are. If we all stay focused and go after what we want then I believe we can achieve it.

I also like how he states you have to have a good mindset in order to accomplish what you want to get accomplished. If you start out thinking that you are not going to give it your all, then the finishing product will not be your best work. Friedman gives many useful pieces of advice that we can all use each and everyday.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I also think that having a good mindset is huge. If you don't go into something giving it your all, then why are you doing it? The finished product will be average and the competition will always be better.

      Delete
    2. I agree that a lot of people don't have the "hungry" mindset. Today, it is easy to see that many people have lost motivation to go above and beyond, and they settle for mediocracy. You have to have the right mindset to push through the tough things in life, to work harder than you ever had to before, and to succeed.

I was astounded after hearing Friedman's worries about technology overtaking our jobs. It seemed weird to think that we would stay in a state of service jobs dominating our career pool. This advancement into automation is just like the technological advancements of the past. At one point, we farmed with little to no tools, but there were many farmers. Now we use tractors, combines, and more to farm, but reducing the jobs in this field to less than 5% of our population. People needed to shift skill sets then to continue to be valuable. Now, they will need to learn new skills related to maintaining or operating robots/automating technology in order to continue working. Managerial position will always be available, but our ideas of a "normal job" must shift in order to remain relevant.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you that our mindset of a "normal job" needs to change. There are so many new jobs because of technology. I also agree that people need to shift their skills. Technology is always changing and our jobs change along with it. For example, people no longer need to harvest crops by hand, but they are now needed to run the machinery.

    2. Liam, I completely agree. What is a "normal" job today? That is a great point. I like the analogy to farming and how that is radically different today.

  8. The Hyper Connected World:

My take away from the video is that technology is constantly changing, and we also have to change to keep up. Going to an impressive school and getting good grades is no longer enough. Like Friedman said when he was reading about Google, schools train students to think a certain way; it longer involves creativity and innovation. The job competition will get stiffer and stiffer as more people go to college and are trained for certain jobs, and as jobs get replaced by technology. We have to prove to our future employers that we are the best person for the job, we are innovative, adaptable, and no one else could fill our shoes.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree. Some of the most successful people were looked down upon because they didn't get good grades or go to college. I believe everyone is very smart in their own way. We have to encourage people to get the best out of them.

      Delete
    2. What is wrong with a college degree?

      • Too often people just “do” school. They don’t learn anything and get a degree. Or, they just regurgitate back to the professor what they want to hear. Google doesn’t want that.
      • The millionaire mindset. The average GPA of the deca-millionaire in the USA is 2.75? Why? School doesn’t produce entreprenuers and free thinkers. We turn out skilled people who follow directions. Those people work for millinaires. They don’t become them.

  9. Friedman's Advice to His Daughters -

The way in which Friedman related his advice to situation that are actually occurring was great. I especially liked his immigrant idea, that being that we should work as hard as an immigrant in order to bring our best and secure jobs/goals. The topic is extremely relevant, with many immigrants pushing to exceed in order to take advantage of our systems in America. It's sad that in order to motivate ourselves, we must first see the competition's overwhelming performance. We must use this fear of competition as incentive to push ourselves. In today's world, one must remain new and innovative if they wish to go above and beyond standards. Friedman's advice to work hard relates to events we all see everyday. It provides a great example of a motivation, fear of mediocrity/loss, that is required to succeed in many of today's jobs.

    1. I agree that we have to be innovative if we want to make our selves noticed. I also thought the "Think like an immigrant" idea is great because we have to create a place for ourselves in this world just like they did, and we have to worker harder than ever before to keep up with the competition and shine above them.

      Delete
    2. I heard Friedman give a great example of someone who was able to "think like an immigrant" and innovated . . . all without technology. He is a Baltimore Oriels fan. He noticed that the Oriel stadium still employees people (as opposed to machines) to sell lemonade. Water with ice and a huge slice of lemon. As he went to more games he began to notice the lemonade salespeople. He noticed one older guy who had a wad of cash (from both sales and tips) that was twice the size of every other salesman's. Why? Because the guy sold lemonade with passion and personality. He sang songs, he danced, he remembered the names of his customers, he joked with them . . . all of that took zero technology. This man found a way to be a linchpin at a very old-fashioned profession - selling a product.

  10. Friedman's Advice to His Daughters:

To me, the best advice that Friedman gave was think like a waitress at Perkins. You can't control everything, but make everything that you can control–no matter how small– the best that you can make it. It's the little things you do that set you apart from others and reap the most rewards.

I also liked how he said, "Think like an immigrant." It's important to stay optimistic, but also realize that you have to put all of your effort and your drive into your goals in order to succeed. You also have to look for the best opportunity and take it with all that you have.

Finally, I like how Friedman said, "Think like an artisan." Don't put out any work that you would not take pride in. Always do the best you can do, and make everything that you do a part of who you are.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree that controlling whatever you can makes the best of certain situations. You never know how much of an impact it will make. Like how Friedman and his friend gave the waitress a 50% tip for something as small as a few extra pieces of fruit. Sometimes the small things make the biggest difference.

      Delete
    2. I also agree with controlling what what you can. By going the extra mile, even on small things, it can make you stand out. It can create an impact on someone's life. The little things is what makes you stand out from others. No matter how small the action, the impact can be large.

      Delete
    3. Perhaps the #1 thing you can do to stand out is have a work ethic that is second to none. This has so many benefits

      1. It will make you stand out from your peers as most don't have any type of work ethic at all (it's what your generation is known for - you're supposedly all entitled little brats who expect your participation trophies). I don't believe that (it wouldn't be your fault anyway but the fault of those who raised you) at all.

      2. It will only make you a better worker/owner/employee. I'm not a great physical laborer. I hated all my part time jobs. But when it comes to teaching and school, I discovered that I loved to read and write and work hard. That has compounded over time and allowed me to get the degree that allows me to teach the best classes and the best students at LHS. Example - My work ethic to do professional development has also made me a more effective teacher.

      3. This will make you a Linchpin to your employers. I have a great story to share in class about Cory. Remind me to tell this on Friday.

Technology is huge part of our lives. Especially, in the workforce. It is constantly changing and we must keep up with it to have job. You can no longer be average, above average or have a great education to ensure a job. Like Friedman states GPA’s don’t matter anymore. Google would rather hire someone based on technology than education. With the advancements in technology it is important to be a linchpin.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you that average is just not enough anymore. I think we need to get out of the mindset that GPA's are so important, because it is clear that it's not. I think we need to keep up on the latest technology so that we can become better than it, so that we don't lose jobs to it.

      Delete
    2. I agree with what you are saying. Especially when you say that we have to keep up with technology. When new technology goes into the work force it changes the whole process of the task that someone is doing at their job. A boss won't handle someone that isn't able to keep up with their task at their job.

      Delete
    3. I agree that average is no longer good enough. Although technology was originally created to make life easier it is actually making us work harder and forces us put more time and effort into being better that the machine, that is what essentially makes us irreplaceable.

      Delete
    4. GPA's are not important. We have a few "myths" in high school that simply don't apply to the real world -

      1. GPA's are vital.
      2. Sports are vital.
      3. High school is the best time of our lives.
      4. Life will always be like it is in high school.

Thank God none of those are true.

I'm at the top of the salary scale at LHS. I've had success. My classes are full and I teach the best classes at LHS. No one has ever asked me what my GPA in high school was (3.0) or what my GPA was in college (3.81) or grad school (4.0).

What really mattered was that I was able to develop skills and grow. And that I developed a passion for teaching and learning and for students.

I love sports, but I use ZERO of anything I ever learned in sports in real life. Team work? Never learned that in sports. What I did learn thanks to sports was - as a captain - how to be a jerk to all the kids under me. That would get me fired today if I tried that today. The one thing I did take away from sports that I use every day is the practice mindset. I loved running a play or taking infield over and over and over again knowing I could do even better the next time. That is a transferable life-skill.

High school is not the best time of your life. If it is or was, you're a loser. Why wouldn't ever year be your best year? Life doesn't stop being awesome because you're out of high school or can't legally play sports anymore or live at home with your parents.

The real world is nothing like high school AT ALL. Now this is ironic coming from me - someone who has spent his whole life in schools. But it's true. You'll never get three months off in a row again in your life. Most of you will never ever have to take another test once you're in the workforce. They don't have son-fest or homecoming at your place of work. You can't whine to your boss that you stayed up late and didn't get your work done. They will just demote your or fire you. That doesn't happen in school.

What I got from this video was that technology is constantly changing and if we don't keep up we are basically screwed. I used to think technology was helping us wit hour jobs. But now technology is completely taking over and doing things without us. It scares me to think that Google would rather hire someone with no college education versus someone with college education. It makes me wonder if I will struggle finding a job during or after I graduate college. I think there are many things that technology cannot do that we can. We will just have to think of better more and innovative things to beat the technology overload.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I see how technology is changing and we do seemed to be screwed for the future, but I think that technology is both bad and good. It does make life easier, but it also hurts us when we find out that we are no longer necessary. It also sucks that a college degree does not even guarantee a job anymore, but it shows how much things are changing. I think that there are so many people getting degrees now that there is too much of the same thing in the system while the size of the system itself decreases. This is why we have to go what we are good at, or we will loose.

      Delete
    2. I wouldn't say you're screwed for the future at all. It just means you better start working on your "extra" (whatever that might be) as soon as you can.

The scary thing is that there are so many other talented people seeking jobs. There are tons of jobs open. Most are of a very technical variety (pipe-fitters, steam-fitters, diesel mechanics, and skilled laborers . . . I mean Digi Key is so starved for reliable workers that they have to bus them in from other communities)! That is why it will be vital to develop the mindset Friedman talks about.

  13. Friedman's Advice to His Daughters:
Something from the video that stood out to me was be an Artisan. Artisans take pride in their work and carve their initials into it. When you are an artisan you put so much into your work and do it in a creative way. You bring so much value to your work that it is recognized, like a linchpin. We all need to do work that we pride in and want to carve our initials into it.

Think like an immigrant also stood out to me. You have to work harder than anyone to achieve what you want. It is important to always be motivated and do your best, because you never know when it can be taken away from you.

I like when he says we should always reinvent ourselves. I think it is really important to always relearn things. We should always be finding ways to learn something new. The world is constantly growing and does not stop for anybody. So the more knowledge to you the more power to you.

The Perkins waitress story also stood out to me. I think if you can always find ways to give a little extra at whatever you do, you are doing so much good. Even when giving extra is something as small as giving a little more fruit, you are making yourself noticeable.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with what you said on trying to find a way to get a little extra. If you give a little extra you are going to put an impact on more people's lives. People remember the people who always did extra compared to the person who just did what they were supposed to do and nothing else. Giving extra doesn't just benefit the other person, it also benefits yourself.

    2. I agree with what you said when you talked about being a little extra and going above and beyond. People always want to take the easy way out of things and it is rare to find someone who is going to push themselves to be better and go above everyone else.

One thing I took away from this video is that new technology is constantly being made to make people's lives easier. It's crazy to me how competitive it is getting to get a job right now. And it's only going to get more competitive by the time we are out of college. That's why I think it is so important to make sure the job you want is what you'll want to do for a very long time. It's going to be harder to find a new job after deciding you don't like the one you've been working at for a long time.

I think it is crazy how people are making all these software updates and machines that end up taking other peoples jobs away. I don't really understand why their goal would be to get rid of all the lawyers just because some can't afford them. Now because of this software hundreds of thousands of people don't have jobs. I get we want to advance our world and keep creating new things but at what point are we going to stop.

Also I think it's very interesting that this is now the second video we've watched about how school trains you to work a certain way and it's not always the best thing. I think it's crazy that they don't care about test scores and grades either because from your first day of school you are taught to do your best, get good grades, study for all your tests. Then we hear that all of our work for that doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree with you on your first point. It's not fair to people who can actually afford lawyers to not have them. The people who can't afford lawyers should work hard enough so they can have them. The people working to afford lawyers are suffering the consequences of people that don't work hard enough to get them.

I liked when he said that you should work so that your boss would never think of not having you. I also liked when he was talking about working like an artisan. Everyone should put their own creativity in how they work. Not only does it make you standout, it's what works best for you.

I also liked the immigrant analogy. You should always be working hard enough as if it were your last chance to make a good impression on somebody. You're in control of how do your job, so if you really want something, work hard enough to get what you want.

    1. I agree because this advice is to make ourselves matter. If we did not care or give our bosses any reasons to keep us then there is basically no security in having our jobs. And of course, not even trying to work hard just wastes everyone's time including our own.

I think its amazing how much technology is being used in the work force today. Like the example he used about Jamba juice and how a program the used can predict how much customers they are going to that day then telling them how many workers are needed at that time of the day.

When he was talking about who Google looks for in hiring and how they don't what someone with a high GPA or good test scores surprises me. We have been taught that good ACT scores can open up opportunities but now Google says they don't matter. Makes you wonder if it's really worth preparing for those big tests.

    1. It's crazy to think of how many doors technology in the workforce has closed. But we must also remember how many doors the technology has opened for us. One thing that stood out to me was when he said to be an artisan. If someone does the best they can do in what the do everyday they will impact many people. They won't have to worry about being fired because the boss couldn't imagine firing the person.

Another thing that stood out to me was when he said the world doesn't care what you know, it cares about what you do with what you know. Kids have test on things that they will never need to know in the future. Why not learn things that could really help them in the future.

    1. I agree with your point of kids testing on things that they will never have to know. Each person is different, and has a different set of skills and passions. Why does our schooling system require that they are taught nonspecific generic content? Instead they should we should be teaching specific subjects that will have that person reach their full potential.

    2. I agree with what you said about being an artisan. If we put as much effort into our work as we do trying to avoid our work, the world would be full of artisans. Friedman is correct. Technology is taking over all sorts of jobs because it saves money. We cost too much to do things that could be done by machines and computers. For example, learning something new used to mean paying for a class or a personal instructor. Now, all you need is an internet connection and a computer and you can learn almost anything, although it might not be the best possible way. We pay for the role of human interaction in our services, but we also like things to be inexpensive so we let this happen, and it might be worth it, until we loose our jobs.

This means that we have to be more than important, we have to be irreplaceable. We have to be worth not letting a machine take our job. If we are typical, and do not stand out, we will not have the privilege of doing what we are great at.

  21. The Hyper Connected World:

Especially within this past decade, jobs are being automated by the technology we have created. We are constantly shifting and innovating the workforce, but there is always a possibility that your future job will be automated as well. For example, when the company was trying to produce an automated lawyer for those who could not afford one. It makes you think if your are irreplaceable regardless of how much extra education you have accumulated. You must be a "linchpin" so that regardless when the technology around and workforce around you changes you remain irreplaceable.

The world is ever changing, but your mindset of being successful should not change. Overall, you must be driven for what you want, make your mark with your skills (take pride in your work), think of yourself constantly as a work in progress, and maximize what you can do to its full potential.

To me, each concept had a similar theme. You must be extra at everything you do it standout. I know people joke about the phrase "being extra" but it truly is key to differentiating yourself from others.

These four tips go along with his warning about how dangerous technology is and they can help you to keep yourself valuable enough to keep your job. You have to be active to get ahead of the status quo that will lose you your job. By working hard like an immigrant, you get yourself further than someone who would be too confident in what they are currently doing. Taking pride also makes you better off than if you just did not care about what you do because doing a crappy job is an easy way to lose a job. Always trying to do better instead of settling also makes you better off because a machine will stop when it is finished. Lastly, going the extra mile to do more is better than a machine since it only does what it has to while people work harder for what they want.

As our technology becomes more and more advanced people are forced to go above and beyond "the norm". Nowadays we are fighting for a job with a new machine or technique where as before, we were only up against the talents of the people. If we want to be secure (a linchpin) we have to do more than the machines.

I believe that Google is a successful company because it does not hire people based on their GPA or test score. Everyone has certain strengths and weaknesses, if none of your strengths are related to academics you are just out of luck in most cases, this passes up a handful of creative and innovative individuals who could be an asset to any company.

    1. I agree that Google is successful because of the way they hire their employees. Everyone does have different strengths and weaknesses. By hiring the way that Google does, it opens opportunities for those who have strengths in other areas besides acedemics.

Technology plays a huge role in the world that we live in. It is crazy to that many jobs have been replaced or soon with be replaced by technology. As stated in the video, Google would rather hire based on technology rather than someone's GPA or education. In future years, I think that the workforce will only become more competitive. We will have to prove ourselves to be above average. It is important to be linchpins and to be above average with the advancements in our world.

Be a paranoid optimist. Think and work the way that an immigrant does. If you have something to loose you will work even harder to keep it. Hopefully you will work your butt off if you know that you could be replaced. A linchpin however will work their butt off so that no one even considers replacing them, because there is nothing better.

My takeaway from the video was that technology is being more and more relevant to every job. Technology is becoming one of the key components to having a successful business. If a business does not keep up with the technology that is surrounding us the business with fail for a few reasons. One being the payment methods that we are now so dependent on, most people just swipe their cards and don't pay attention to the amount they are swiping it for. Another reason is the communication between the different businesses and the world itself, if they do not stay up to date they will lose crucial business.

What stood out to me while watching this video was the Perkins waitress. Like he says in the video, the waitress didn't control much but she controlled the fruit ladle. She went extra on the things that she could control which made her stand out. Even if it is just something small like adding extra fruit to a plate, the smallest thing can make a person stand out.

I also liked when he talked about always "staying hungry". I feel that the younger population has lost motivation and ambition to continue trying to become better. By "staying hungry", it drives us to be above average.

    1. I definitely agree that the Perkins waitress was a great tip. By maximizing your "extra" and continuing to push the limits by being excellent, you'll earn advancements that will give you more control. Continuing to stand out allows you to reach your goals.

Think like an immigrant. This is brilliant because he is wanting us to continue to be hungry and keep pushing for more no matter what we go into. We can always do better than we are doing right now and I think it is great that he wants his daughters to strive in their passions. If you think like an immigrant, you will always be curious of your surroundings and will always be trying something new.

    1. I totally agree with what you are saying and I love that you said to be curious of your surrounding. Breaking out of your comfort zone, trying something new, or something completely different is what will set you apart from everyone else.

One thing I took from this video is how big technology is getting to be. I believe that technology has helped us improve in certain areas whether it be in school or at work, but what I don’t agree with is using technology to replace people. The fact that someone was trying to replace lawyers was shocking to me. I don’t understand how anyone could think that would be a better option than an actual person. I get that he was trying to give them a cheaper option, but I don’t agree with his solution.

It also scares me that Google would hire someone with no college education instead of someone who has one. I don’t see how they could be more qualified for the job. Makes me wonder if other places will be like this by the time we graduate. I feel like it will cause more students to think “Why do I need college when I can get a job at Google without it?”.

I love the line “Think like an immigrant” and how you need to find where the best opportunities are and work for them harder than anyone else. Because that’s what immigrants do, because they know at any time they can have it taken away from them, so they work harder than anyone else just to keep that from happening.

I also like how he says to never think of yourself as finished, to always think of yourself as a ‘work in progress’, because the world doesn’t care how much you know, it only cares what you can do with what you know.

  33. Friedman's Advice for his Daughters

You need to work like you don't belong, which means you want to do the best you can because you have the fear that they could always let you go. If you go somewhere and you know you are guaranteed a job and they will never fire you that is when your drive dies. Start small choose one thing like the nice lady at the gas station, she new everyone and that is why they kept coming back because she made it home for them. Make where you work a place everyone wants to be. You need to always be thinking one step ahead and dare to be different.

  34. Godin is very good at pointing out the problems with the education system. This does not mean the education system should not exist, he just wants it to be redesigned. He sees the early days of the education system, from over a hundred years ago, better than what it is today. It used to be made up of dedicated individual teachers that would use their skills to teach children through art. Now, it is a system made up of standardized tests and textbooks designed to prepare children to work in factories. Godin's idea of how to fix the system is a little radical, but according to him, it's the best way to make the world better. He wants it to be universal and more individual discovery based.

  36. I loved how he talked about the immigrants and when they first moved here how they were hungry to grow as a community that should be like our work force everyone in the company should be hungry to grow. For the company as a whole will grow if the people within keep growing. Making it nearly impossible for a company to fall or go down hill. We have to keep striving to get better every single day.

  37. The hyper connected world was a bit sad to see. Were letting robot take over the jobs that should be ours. I don't think robots can do what we can. For example a lawyer you can't have a robot as a lawyer there is so much more then just saying things its strategy that shouldn't be replaced by a robot. I know its cheeper labor to let a robot run but what about all the jobless people because of robots.

  38. The world around us is rapidly changing due to the huge, huge growth of technology. Many jobs nowadays can be removed from manual labor and replaced with automated machines that will be more efficient and cost less. Technology however can improve lives for us with advances in medication and medical practices but many people don't realize until it's too late that when you keep advancing technology like we are, it will take over your job for you.
